OLDmpwordsIn every job that must be done, there is an element of fun! You find a MOM and SNAP! The job’s a game…

My mother is safely back in California now after having come to Iowa – in WINTER of all things! Hey! Maybe this here nut didn’t fall far from the tree, because WHO in their right mind would leave a perfectly good and toasty state to come where the air is frigid? My momma, that’s who! And while she was here she toiled and troubled, and now…

My house! It is organized! For me, it was kind of like the scene where Mary Poppins cleans the Bank’ children’s playroom. Everything magically got put away! Oh, sure, my mom probably did SOME work…(I keed, Mom! You were a WONDER!). Now I have A Place for Everything and Everything in It’s Place.

In the meantime, the first of the Once-Loved Dolls are almost ready to go. Here’s a behind the scenes look at them as they excitedly get ready to go out into the world again:

Four of the first ten in various states.

Carol Jane will be O.L.D. number ONE. She just needs socks, a clasp on her new purse, and a penny for good luck. What a WONDERFUL coincidence that the very first lost doll should have the Exact Same name as my own mother, Carol Jane Agle!

Emily Grace’s hair will relax. She’s just glad to have some! It was very sparse before, but some new hair has been added to her wig and it’s been curled.

Speaking of hair, it’s hard to have so many dress fittings and not harm your fragile mohair locks! That’s the reason that Molly here has a kerchief on her head. It’s for her hair’s safe-keeping! This dress was a complicated one to do, but she just had to have it. And I thought she deserved it, too!

Bit by bit, things are taking shape!

The journey continues…

Glad you’re home safe, Ma! Happy Monday, everyone!

I’m glad I made it home safe too! It was a rewarding and worthwhile month and lovely to spend so much time with the Iowans.
