To Quote David Soul…

Whaddya MEAN you don’t know who David Soul is?! Heavens to murgatroyd, am I dating myself? David Soul was the blonde half of the original cop duo from the television show “Starsky and Hutch” in the, um, 70’s. Hmm. I guess that was awhile ago. Anyway, as many actors do, he tried to venture into the music business with a song called “Don’t Give Up On Us.” It was a hit! I LOVED that song. And while most girls loved Starsky, I loved HUTCH.
SQUEE! I just listened to it again. He’s so HANDSOME!!! The next 3:36 minutes of your life could be very blissful, should you choose to listen…
Ahem. Back to the business at hand. Yes, yes it’s been awhile, but don’t give up on us! We’re back! O.L.D. (Once-Loved Doll) No. 73 and 73 -1/2 are currently up for adoption. You can see their adoption page HERE. The description begins…

Here are the two planes, and Lulu in her “Before” picture. She didn’t have much wrong with her, except some missing skin. And a missing little friend for that smaller plane…
“Hey, look at these! What do you think?”
My sister Julie and I, as we often do, were scouring our favorite thrift store, hunting for treasure. As always, I was sorting through the shelves of fabric when she showed up by my side, two old beat up wooden airplanes in her hands. I fell in love instantly.
“Wonderful! Thank you!” Julie is the best wing man EVER (see what I did there? With the “wings,” and the planes?! Comedy GOLD!).
“You could do a doll with an airplane now, and one later…” She helpfully suggested.
“SILENCE! Peanut gallery!!” Sometimes I’m more receptive to ideas than others.
For the longest time, I’ve been wanting to make a doll of my own…Hmm….Yes. These would do…
“You’re an angel!” I purred as I set the two old planes, one larger and one small, gently in my cart. That Julie is one smart cookie, and she always tries to rein me in, because she knows I frequently bite off more than I can chew. This little pair was no different. Ah well!

I had wanted to make two entirely different outfits for both girls. I NEVER would have finished! Two different hats would have to do. If you look closely, you’ll see that I changed the buttons on Lulu’s coat to larger gold ones halfway through taking pictures.
So now, without further ado, it’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s TWO planes! Courtesy of my darling sister…
Julie really helped me with this one. It’s like waiting a little too long to get back onto that horse. What if I’ve forgotten how to ride? That’s why right here, right now, I’d like to thank YOU for reading my words, and all those who look at my dolls, who put them on their watch list, and those who bid. You’re the wind beneath my wings! My airplane wings! The jokes! They just keep coming! But I am being sincere…Thank you.
This girl’s name is Lulu and her little friend is named Emmie. Both of these girls told their names to Julie, since I temporarily couldn’t hear them speak, and she told them to me. Now they’re talking loud and clear, I’m happy to say. And the upcoming O.L.D.s are clamoring too!
Many moons ago, O.L.D. No. 72, Memorial Day’s Freedom was adopted by Adele M. of Castroville, Texas! Thank you so much, Adele! That was exciting to watch!
Guess what comes after 73? That’s right, 74! How very….fortuitous. And I didn’t even plan it that way. A CLUE. Can you figure it out?
And with that, I leave you! Happy beginning of Summer, you’re my favorite!
